CAPE LOOKOUT NATIONAL SEASHORE

Fifty-five miles of unspoiled barrier islands make up the Cape Lookout National Seashore.

Beginning below Ocracoke Island and running to Beaufort Inlet, the three sections of this vast seashore cannot be visited in a single day.

Separated from the mainland by inlets and sounds, it can only be reached by boat. No roads or bridges access these islands, but camping, exploring, walking/hiking, beachcombing and adventures are plentiful along the bare beaches and shifting sand dunes.

In addition to the boats necessary for access, other recreational boating activities such as sightseeing and fishing are available.
