Tips to get the optimal Crystal Coast rental experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are high season in New Bern. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning and picking the right Crystal Coast rental:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Conveniently Located 3 Bedroom 2 Bathroom has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast destination you simply love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
