Crystal Coast rental home tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer months are high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Beaufort Getaway 3 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast attraction you long to visit, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your agreement.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
