Get into the spooky Halloween spirit with this unique event that shines a spotlight on the centuries of history that the small town of Beaufort is renowned for. Voices of the Past is a special tour of the downtown’s famous Old Burying Ground which is sure to uncover plenty of spooky stories and entertainment for visitors of all ages.
The tour is hosted by the Beaufort Historic Site, and is aimed at bringing to life the stories of those who have long passed and have been laid to rest in the Old Burying Ground. Guests will be grouped with an appointed “Burial Caretaker,” who knows the ins and outs of the grounds, and who will lead them through this unique experience from start to finish. As guests traverse through the grounds by mere lantern light, they will find the Old Burying Ground quite literally coming to life. Tickets are just $15 for adults and $7 for ages 6-12, and will be available for purchase in the Old Beaufort Shop until they are sold out in the days leading up to the tour. Each tour will last roughly an hour and will only welcome 50 guests, so visitors are advised to purchase their tickets soon so they don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to dive into Beaufort’s centuries of history.
