Tips to get the best Crystal Coast vacation rental experience:

When to visit Beaufort & When to book:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Summer time is high season in the Crystal Coast area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Crystal Coast vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.

Finding the best rental in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Most beautiful view on the east coast! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the rental. • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
