Tips for getting the best vacation property experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • Booking your Crystal Coast vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Select dates and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Double Queen-Unit 301 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
