Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Crystal Coast rental experience:

When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental home & When to go:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. To get the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Crystal Coast attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Planning and picking the perfectrental:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Peace, Joy, and a View at The Point has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
