Tips to get the perfect Crystal Coast vacation home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation rental:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Sea Spray 201 - Walk to the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
