Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Crystal Coast area. To book the best rental within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Crystal Coast restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. SeaSpray 360, Oceanview Condo, in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your family.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
