Booking the best Pine Knoll Shores vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Reserve your vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose the best vacation home in Pine Knoll Shores:

  • Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. A Gritty Palace. Gorgeous. Oceanfront. Pool and Hot Tub! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
