Tips for getting the best Crystal Coast rental home experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • Summertime is high season in the Crystal Coast area. To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Crystal Coast attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and pick your prefect Crystal Coast rental:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. It's an easy 10 minute stroll to downtown has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If not, email the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.

During your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
