Strategies to get the best rental home experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Summer time is high season in the Crystal Coast area. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Elizabeth Bell House, Soundside House in Beaufort, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your group.
  • If there's an individual Crystal Coast attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your invoice.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
