Beaufort is a striking little historic NC town founded in 1709 which makes it the 3rd oldest in the state. Originally a Port of Entry and fishing village, Beaufort has a rich maritime history. The historic waterfront district along Taylor’s Creek offers visitors the opportunity to dine and shop while appreciating vistas of feral horses on Carrot Island and boats from all over the world at the Beaufort Docks. Water ferries transport visitors to close by Cape Lookout and Shackleford Banks. There are historic and ghost tours available daily that provide a rich history of the area, and one of Blackbeard’s legendary homes is just around the corner from our vacation home! Tour the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the Beaufort Historic Site, and walk or bicycle the tree lined streets of the historic neighborhoods. There are astounding eateries by the waterfront to savor including annual events like the Food and Wine Weekend with winemakers and top chefs from around the world and the music festival. Whatever you decide to do, I am sure that you will find Beaufort as delightfully different as we do – and it's only 3 hours from Raleigh!

The home sleeps 12 and was constructed only a few years ago so has the amenities of a new home. We include bicycles, a canoe, and other extras with the rental.

Tips for getting the perfect Beaufort vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Crystal Coast restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the perfect rental in Beaufort:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Unique, Great for Families, Walk to Beaufort Waterfront has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
