Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Crystal Coast area. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking your Crystal Coast rental:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Crystal Conch sleeps 16, private home close to beach access has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If not, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
