About this Property

Years ago, when I was looking for a home on the island I came across this property. When I walked up the front steps for the first time, I entered into a relaxing little wonderland. Set up high on a sand dune surrounded by trees, this property is the ideal calming hideaway. Set smack dab in the middle of town, it is walking/cycling distance to nearly everything in Emerald Isle. It is 1 block from the sound and about 7 blocks to the ocean.

Tips and Tricks for getting the best Emerald Isle vacation property experience:

How to get the best value:

  • To find the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Crystal Coast attractions.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your rental search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Island Treehouse has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
