Tricks and tips to get the optimal Crystal Coast vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your family agree to a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sound Of The Sea North 212, Almost Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is best for your group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Crystal Coast attraction you are crazy about, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
