Tips to get the optimal Crystal Coast rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the perfect rental in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ocean view condo with shared pool, hot tub, and tennis court access - W/D & AC has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
