Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Crystal Coast area. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, selecting, and booking your Crystal Coast rental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Relaxing Getaway at Atlantic Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Additional considerations:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. message the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
