Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Crystal Coast area. Reserve your vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and choose yourrental:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Resort style living in small town Beaufort NC has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

More considerations:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
