Tips and Tricks to get the best Crystal Coast vacation property experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the best vacation rental:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. SeaSpray 244, Almost Oceanfront Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast destination you love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
