Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

How to pick the best vacation home:

  • Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Walking Distant to Beach & Gorgeous Sound View w\/ Marina Access has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
