Tips to get the best Emerald Isle rental experience:

When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental home & When to go:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • To find the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain discounts for local shops and restaurants.

How to choose the best rental in Emerald Isle:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanfront listing highly rated! Linda's Lanai West has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
