Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your Crystal Coast rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Beachfront home base with ocean-view balcony, 2 pools, waterslide & beach access has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
