Tricks and tips for getting the best rental home experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • To get the most suitable rental within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Crystal Coast attractions and restaurants.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the perfect rental home in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Hip Newly Renovated Historic Riverside Home in New Bern, NC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
