How to find the best Emerald Isle vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Reserve your Crystal Coast rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

Finding the best rental home:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean Reef 18-B, Large 4BR Almost Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or applied to your agreement.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
