Crystal Coast rental property booking tips:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Crystal Coast attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to select the best vacation rental in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Just a Fluke - Ocean cottage 2nd row has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
