Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer is high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many property management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the perfect rental home in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Select your vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Living- Spectacular Beach & Pool Views! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast attraction you long to visit, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
