How to find the best Pine Knoll Shores rental home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summer months are high season in the Crystal Coast area. Book your vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. The Hanner-Luxury Ocean Front Home has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
