Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your Crystal Coast rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have discounts for local tours and attractions.

How to pick the perfect vacation home:

  • Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Remodeled, 2nd-Floor, Oceanfront Condo with Ocean View & Shared Pools\/Hot Tub has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is best for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
