Rental booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best value:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Reserve your Crystal Coast rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose the perfect vacation home:

  • Select your vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Sounds Perfect - Bright and airy sound front home w/dock. 2 blocks to the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a specific Crystal Coast destination you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
