Tips and Tricks to get the best Crystal Coast rental experience:

When to visit Emerald Isle & When to book:

  • Reserve your Crystal Coast vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best vacation home:

  • Start by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 2nd row, pet-friendly 5 BR Cottage with pool spectacular, ocean views! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If not, call the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
