Come explore one of the most scenic sections of the Crystal Coast with this unique tour and event that will appeal to stargazers of all ages and experience levels. The Cape Lookout National Seashore Starlight Cruise is an opportunity to explore the night skies with a professional guide, as well as a chance to take an evening tour of one of the most stunning beaches that the Crystal Coast has to offer.

Participants will start out the evening by boarding an Island Express Ferry at the Cape Lookout Visitor Center on Harkers Island for a cruise to the Cape Lookout Lighthouse. From there, stargazers will disembark at the lighthouse, and a NASA Solar System Ambassador will provide a laser-pointed tour of the night sky from the isolated locale. Representatives from the Crystal Coast Stargazers will have telescopes set up on the Harkers Island mainland side for public stargazing beginning at 7:30 p.m., and will remain at the site until the ferry returns from the lighthouse to allow passengers to stargaze through the telescopes to their hearts' content. Tickets are available in advance, and with stargazing quickly becoming a favorite local pastime, folks are encouraged to sign up early to enjoy an unforgettable exploration.
