This unique event that is held in the heart of Beaufort is an intricate course of how to build a boat from the ground up, and best of all, will result with a newfound intricate knowledge of how to craft a boat or two of your own.

The Introduction to Wooden Boat Building Course takes place over the course of two days, and during this timeframe, students will learn all the nooks and crannies of building their own authentic wooden vessel. The course begins with the design and lofting of boats, and then extends to steam bending and various methods of crafting the backbone of a wooden vessel. In addition, students will learn the finer points of planking systems, appropriate fastening systems, and all the ins and outs of crafting a boat from start to finish. By the end of the course, students will have obtained a brand new set of skills that they can use to celebrate their own love of live on the water.
