Quickly becoming one of the Crystal Coast’s favorite local competitions, the annual Kayak for the Warriors Kayak / Paddle Board Race is a chance for visitors and residents alike to explore the local waters of the southern Outer Banks while supporting a beloved cause that does a world of good. Launching from the coastal town of Pine Knoll Shores, this fundraising event for injured and fallen service men and women is a great way to support the local and national community while enjoying everything that this watersports haven has to offer.
The course for the Kayak for the Warriors Kayak / Paddle Board Race entails a 2.3-mile cruise through the Bogue Sound waters, and the event is held in early June, which is an exceptional time to explore the Crystal Coast. All participants will receive a special Warrior T-shirt as well as a catered lunch after the event, which will entail a barbecue feast with all the fixings. Both single and tandem kayaks / paddle boards are welcome to participate, and loaner kayaks may also be available for those who don’t have a ride. With lots of stunning views and plenty of fun, this fundraising event is a fantastic opportunity to dive into the Crystal Coast watersports scene.
