Taste of China is a small take-out Chinese restaurant that’s located in between several general grocery stores in the heart of residential Beaufort, just off of Highway 70. Though easy to miss, Taste of China is nevertheless a solid option for locals and visitors alike on the hunt for a quick meal that’s tasty, a little unique, and definitely does not break the bank.
The multi-page menu has all the Chinese restaurant staples, including appetizers, soups, fried rice, chow mein, and chop suey, which are all available in quart and pint sizes. In addition, diners will find an equally large selection of entrees, which are divvied up into seafood, pork, chicken, beef, and vegetable sections, (and are available in quart or pint sizes as well.) Hungry patrons can also opt for the combination dishes, which feature several of the menu faves in one quart-sized helping, or the Szechuan Specialties, like General Tso's Chicken, Orange Chicken, and the Mandarin Combination with shrimp, chicken and beef. The food is tasty, but the big draw for frequent patrons is the price – almost all the menu items are in the under $10 range and are large enough for several big portions.
Satisfying and budget-friendly, Taste of China is a local go-to for fast, filling Chinese food.
