Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental home:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Crystal Coast area. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting the perfect rental home in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Second-Floor Condo with Ocean & Courtyard View, Balcony, WiFi, Shared Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
