Tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, try changing your family's Crystal Coast vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting the best vacation home in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Upstairs portion of beautiful 2nd-row duplex with ocean view, central AC, & WiFi has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. text the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
