Tips to get the best vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Book your Crystal Coast rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. NCBEACHBUMZ 5 Min walk to beach and sound access. Public parking beach entrance has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's an individual Crystal Coast destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
