Active visitors and residents will be delighted to learn that there’s a new fitness event on the local North Carolina coastal scene – the Crystal Coast Full and Half Booty Triathlon. Celebrating its inaugural year in 2019, this all-encompassing and not-for-profit race comprises of two challenging events to allow participants to test their limits while exploring a wide swath of the stunning Crystal Coast shoreline.
The Crystal Coast Full and Half Booty Triathlon has two events that interested participants can sign up for – a full triathlon which includes a 2.4-mile swim, 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run, and a half triathlon which includes a 1.2-mile swim, 56 mile bike, and a 13.1 mile run. Both races launch on a May Saturday, which is a perfect time of year to explore the Crystal Coast shoreline. Proceeds from the event go towards a number of local charities, including the Friends of the North Carolina Maritime Museum and the Beaufort Boys & Girls Club, which means that participants can feel good about challenging themselves while supporting the local community. With a scenic course that extends throughout the Crystal Coast region, the Crystal Coast Full and Half Booty Triathlon presents a fun and exciting opportunity to get out, get active, and explore.
