Davis Shore Ferry Service is one of the Southern Outer Banks’ few local ferry services that provides both passenger and vehicle transportation to the Cape Lookout National Seashore. Cruising across the Core Sound and landing on the South Core Banks, visitors who book a trip with Davis Shore Ferry Service will be close to the National Park Service’s Great Island cabins, as well as miles of undeveloped shoreline that’s famous for exceptional fishing, shelling, and plenty of room to move.
A number of vehicles can be accommodated on the Davis Shore Ferry Service, including ATVs, mules, kayaks and canoes, and 4WD trucks up to 40’ ft. long. Rates vary based on the size of the vehicle and / or number and age of passengers, and roughly five trips are available each day from both the mainland and the barrier island departure points. The ferry service is located north of Beaufort in the small town of Davis, which makes it fairly easy to reach for vacationers staying throughout the Southern Outer Banks. With easy transport that takes less than an hour, and a vessel that can accommodate trucks of all sizes, Davis Shore Ferry Service is the launching point for an unforgettable exploration of the Cape Lookout National Seashore.
