The miles of water off the Crystal Coast are even more beautiful under the surface, and scuba divers can explore this rich region with a dive charter that’s orchestrated by the Olympus Dive Center. Conveniently located in Morehead City on the edge of the waterfront downtown docks, this all-encompassing dive center provides gear, apparel, training, and charted expeditions to some of the most otherworldly regions the Southern Outer Banks has to offer.
Certified scuba divers can book a half day, full day, extended day, or even twilight trip to see a number of sites found just off the barrier island coastline. Known as the “Graveyard of the Atlantic,” there are more than 2,000 shipwrecks buried deep in the ocean floor, which provides excellent wreck diving. Olympus Dive Center knows where the coolest and most prestigious wrecks are found, as well as where to go to spot gliding manta rays, intimidating sharks, and everything in between. For newcomers, training is also available on-site to learn the basics and get certified, and there’s also plenty of top-notch equipment and gear for local divers who want to upgrade their diving supplies. In operation since 1982, Olympus Dive Center has a long history of being the gateway to a world of underwater adventures off the Southern Outer Banks.
