Full of the classic charms of North Carolina's Crystal Coast, this adorable bungalow brings breezy comfort to any Beaufort escape. This is a place to spend your days sipping coffee on the front porch swing, strolling downtown, and calming at sunset in the roomy and enclosed yard. This bungalow features a fenced piece of property across the road from Taylor Creek, about three-quarters of a mile from historic downtown Beaufort. You'll be within walking distance of the Island Express Ferry Service, the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the Beaufort Historic Site, and a variety of stores and eateries. Public beach access on Radio Island (less than four miles), Atlantic Beach (eight miles), and Fort Macon State Park (10 miles) are close by as well.

Constructed in 1945, the home is bright and inviting, offering generous windows, hand-painted coastal-themed artwork, and thoughtful updates throughout. Highlights include a polished kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a formal dining room, and a living room where you can curl up with a good movie or a book from the shelves. After a day at the beach, come home to toss your swimsuits in the washer/dryer, relax in central air conditioning, or linger outside on the porch with appetizers and cold drinks.

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses.   • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review.
