Capt. Joe Shute is a local icon, and was one of the first full-time light tackle inshore guides for redfish and speckled trout in the Cape Lookout area. Now more than 25 years later, he still uses his local expertise to guide newcomers to some of the cool shallow water flats and hidden holes where a wealth of saltwater catches are waiting. These inshore fishing trips are held onboard a 17' Mitzi flats boat – which is perfect for navigating through the tricky shallow waters – or a 23’ ft. Parker center console which is affectionately known as the “Fish Finder.” With lots of great species to target, including king mackerel, false albacore, and amberjacks, anglers can enjoy a stellar introduction to the Crystal Coast inshore fishing scene that’s led by a true local expert.
