How to book the best Crystal Coast rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Crystal Coast area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting and booking the rightvacation home:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Charming Soundside Home including Golf Cart, Kayaks, Bikes & Linens-Emerald Isle has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
