Strategies for getting the best rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer months are high season in Atlantic Beach. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Liquid Sunshine, direct poolside easy beach access has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
