Strategies to get the best Crystal Coast vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Crystal Coast restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing and booking the bestrental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on the best dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Swiss House, Oceanfront Home in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Have a wonderful stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
