How to book the best rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Reserve your Crystal Coast rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning and picking the bestrental:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Multi-level, oceanfront condo with WiFi, W\/D, & community pool\/tennis courts has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
