Tricks and tips to get the best vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Crystal Coast area. To get the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Crystal Coast restaurants and activities.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Finding the perfect rental home in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Quaint and Affordable 3BR Beach Cottage - Near Beach Access has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More considerations:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
