Vacation rental home tips:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • Summer is high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing the best Crystal Coast vacation home:

  • Choose your vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Seaside Cottage, Soundfront House in Beaufort, NC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • If there's a specific Crystal Coast destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
