How to get the best vacation rental experience:

When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental home & When to go:

  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summer is high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Sea breezes and sun in historic old town Beaufort, a block from the water! has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
